Morality of the Body
a.
The Body’s Purity - 1 Cor 6:15-20 “Shall I then take away
the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute?”
b.
Jesus’ work for us: Eph 5:22-32
“so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her
by the washing of water with the word…This mystery is great; but I am speaking
with reference to Christ and the church.”

Washed in the Blood of the Lamb
II.
Marriage of the Body
a.
The Body’s Authority- 1
Cor 7:1-4- “likewise also the husband does not have authority over
his own body, but the wife does.”
b.
Jesus’ work toward us. Col 1:18:
“He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the
firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in
everything.”

III.
Ministry of the Body
a.
The Body’s Adornment- 1 Cor 12:4-27 “But God has so composed
the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which
lacked, so that there may be no division in the body, but that the
members may have the same care for one another.”
b.
Jesus’ work among us. Heb 13:21:
“Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in
us that which is pleasing in His sight”
c.
A spiritual gift is an adornment given by a
groom to a bride as a premarital gift in preparation for the wedding. But how
many Christians don’t know what gift they have?

Spiritual Gifts
a.
How many? 9-25 Different Spiritual Gifts (1 Cor 12, Rom 12, Eph 4, 1 Pet
4)
b.
What kinds? Two Categories:
i.
Identification of the Body for the Jew
ii.
Edification of the Body for the Gentile
c.
Jewish Background of Giving Before the Wedding
