Because of the indigenous work of the Baptist Convention of
Peru and the unique focus of the International Mission Board to push toward the
unreached and unengaged, there is already a strategy in place to plant new
churches among the least reached in Peru. Our desire is to come alongside these
national pastors to encourage and strengthen them and their churches as they
are encouraged to plant yet other new indigenous works. Peru is the third
largest country in South America, and it would take tripling the current number
of Peruvian Baptist churches just to get to one church for every 50,000 lost
people in Peru. Paul had a desire to preach where the Gospel had not yet
reached (Rom 15:10), and yet he employed different methodologies to make that
happen. As we work alongside our national brothers this week, would you pray
for all of our Great Commission Partners who are working together to see the
lost of Peru come to faith in Jesu Cristo?
Please pray:
·
For IMB work toward reaching the unreached in
Peru: see https://vimeo.com/203078539
and https://www.imb.org/opportunity-finder/?affinity_group=AG800
·
For the Baptist Convention of Peru to be
strengthened and plant more churches and to raise up new indigenous church
planters.
·
For the theological training of Peru’s pastors
and church planters to help guard against doctrinal heresy and against
side-tracking of the Great Commission task.
