We Believe in God the Son - Heb 1:1-3
Jesus Didn’t Become God, Discover God, or Be an Example of a god; He is God

            1.       Religious Rejection: More than a Carpenter’s Child

Heb. 1:2 - whom He appointed Heir of all things –VIRGIN BIRTH

Vs. Judaism’s Jesus – Stone Builders Rejected – Cornerstone of Heaven – MIRACULOUS BIRTH/INTERVENTION

Matt 13:54-58     He came to His hometown and began teaching them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers? Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary, and His brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” And they took offense at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and in his own household.” And He did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.

Matt 21:42-46  Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, This became the chief corner stone; This came about from the Lord, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?

Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it. And he who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will scatter him like dust.”

When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard His parables, they understood that He was speaking about them. When they sought to seize Him, they feared the people, because they considered Him to be a prophet.

APP. You’ve got to move beyond the religion to know God the Son.

            2.       Political Perception: More than a Prophet – SINLESS

MIRACULOUS LIFE

Heb 1:2-3 through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power.

Vs. Islam’s Jesus - John 4:19 - Samaritan Woman: The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.

APP. You’ve got to move beyond the politics to know God the Son.

            3.       Personal Reception: More than Enough to Save Me – CRUCIFIED & RESURRECTED MIRACULOUS DEATH/REIGN

Heb 1:3 When He had made purification of sins, He sat down

Vs. Somebody Else’s Jesus- Must be a Personal Relationship

John 6:35; 48-58; 66-69- BECAME SIN FOR US

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.

48 I am the bread of life. 49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. 50 This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”

52 Then the Jews began to argue with one another, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?” 53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever.”

66 As a result of this many of His disciples withdrew and were not walking with Him anymore. 67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” 68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. 69 We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”

ARCHITECT – Chief Cornerstone

BANKER – Bread of Life

CARPENTER – Door

DOCTOR – Great Physician

EDUCATOR – New & Living Way

FARMER – Sower & Lord of Harvest

GOVERNOR – King of Kings; Lord of Lords

HURTING – God of all Comfort

ISRAELITE – Lion from Tribe of Judah

JEW – Messiah

KID – Great Shepherd

LOWLY – Lilly of the Valley

MIGHTY – Rose of Sharon

NEEDY – Supply

OBSERVER – Bright & Morning Star

PROUD – Eternal Judge

QUIET – Still Small Voice

RICH – That which money cannot buy

SLAVE – Redeemer

TESTED/TRIED – The One who walks in between Golden Candles

UNFAITHFUL – Still Faithful

VEXED – Way

WISE – Truth & the Life

GENERATION X – Prince of Peace

GENERATION Y – Ruler whose Kingdom Shall Never End

Z= Alpha & Omega, Beginning & End

But to Me: He is My Savior! My Lord! My God!

You have to accept God the Son personally.
