The Gospel of Deuteronomy: Can You Really Trust God’s Power?
Deuteronomy 3:18-29
I.                    You Can Trust God’s Power to Help You Defeat Spiritual Enemies

“All you valiant men shall cross over armed” (vs. 18)
Good fight of faith (1 Tim 6:12;   2 Tim 4:7)
Sword of the Spirit (Eph 6:17)

II.                  You Can Trust God’s Power to Help You Defend Vulnerabilities

“Your wives - little ones - livestock… until the Lord gives rest” (vv. 19-20)
Shield of Faith (Eph 6:16)
“then every man may return to his possession” – defending others in their vulnerability  cf. Gal 6:1

III.                You Can Trust God’s Power to Help You Discipline Yourself

“I also pleaded with the Lord…” (vs. 23)
“But the Lord was angry with me on your account, and would not listen to me” (vs. 26)
Paul’s thorn in the flesh 2 Cor 12:8-10 “I pleaded with the Lord 3 times… grace is sufficient”

IV.                You Can Trust God’s Power to Help You Disciple New Believers

“But charge- encourage- strengthen Joshua” (vs. 28)
2 Tim 2:2; Matt 4:19 Fishers of men

Evangelize – Disciple – Equip for Ministry
