Every good strategy has an exit plan. Just as Paul had an
exit strategy for Crete that involved ongoing leadership development (see Titus
1:5), there has to be a long-term plan for entry, evangelism, discipleship,
church formation, leadership development and exit in our Peruvian missions
endeavors. Those that Jesus sends out eventually come back to give a report
(see Luke 10:17). This missions mandate may involve your church as a part of
the overarching master plan in Peru or another country. Would you pray today
about your own participation in this kind or another missions opportunity as
the Lord leads? The Bible says many are called but few are chosen (see Matt
22:14). Although this verse is in reference to obedience in salvation, the same
concept can be applied to obedience in missional discipleship. God calls each one
of us individually and all of us corporately to missions in some way or
fashion, but the answer to go and to return has to be answered with a “yes” or
a “no”.
Please pray:
·
That we would each say “yes” to Jesus’ call for
us to be missionaries wherever He leads.
·
That we would be faithful with the Gospel
wherever we are.
·
That we would be effective in going and
returning according to His leading.
